Tips for a clean, stylish bio
- Style one thing. A styled name or first line stands out; a fully styled bio is hard to read.
- Keep searchable words plain. Styled characters in your Name field may not show up in search.
- Use dividers to group info. A small divider between lines makes a bio scannable.
- Check the length. Use the caption counter to stay under 150 (bio) or 2,200 (caption) characters.
FAQ
How do I change my font on Instagram?
Instagram has no font setting. This generator converts your letters into look-alike Unicode characters; copy one and paste it into your bio, name, caption or comment, and it shows up styled.
Why do some fonts show up as boxes?
Boxes (□) appear when the viewer’s phone has no glyph for that character. Bold, italic and script display almost everywhere; rarer styles like squared letters may break on older devices.
Do fancy fonts hurt my Instagram search ranking?
Your Name field is searchable. Styled characters aren’t matched by normal searches, so keep the words you want to be found in plain text. Screen readers may also read styled characters poorly — use them for accents, not whole sentences.
Can I use these fonts in my username?
No. Usernames only allow letters, numbers, periods and underscores. For handle ideas, try the username generator.
Do the fonts work for non-Latin text?
Unicode has styled versions of A–Z and 0–9 only. For other scripts, use strikethrough, underline, spacing and the wrapping symbols, which work with any text.
